CUET Exam Date 2026: Full Expected Schedule

NTA has conducted CUET UG in hybrid mode (CBT and pen-and-paper) since its large-scale rollout in 2022. In 2024, more than 13.48 lakh candidates registered for CUET UG, making it the second-largest entrance examination in India after JEE Main, according to NTA’s official press release published in April 2024. The exam runs across multiple shifts over 10-15 days to handle the volume of test-takers and the wide subject combination matrix. That pattern is unlikely to change for the CUET exam date 2026 cycle.

Tentative CUET UG 2026 Registration Date and Exam Schedule

All CUET exam date 2026 projections are benchmarked against the 2024 and 2025 cycles. The NTA official notification is the single authoritative source.

Where Is the Official CUET 2026 Date Published?

NTA publishes every official schedule on two portals: exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/ and cuet.samarth.ac.in. The Ministry of Education’s press releases and the NTA’s official social media handle (@NTA_Exams on X/Twitter) are secondary confirmation channels, not primary sources. Do not rely on aggregator sites, coaching institute blogs or WhatsApp forwards for the CUET exam date 2026. NTA has historically issued corrections within days of unofficial rumours spreading, which creates confusion for unprepared students.

CUET 2026 Application Form: Registration Window and Process

The CUET UG registration process is fully online. In 2025, NTA kept the application window open for roughly 30-35 days, with a short correction window of 3-5 days after the deadline, as confirmed in the NTA CUET UG 2025 Information Bulletin (Bulletin No. CUET-UG-2025). Expect a similar window for the CUET 2026 application form. The application fee for 2025 was Rs. 750 for General category students (up to 3 subjects), with reduced fees for SC, ST and PwD candidates. Fee structures are subject to revision, so always check the current notification.

Students planning to apply to programmes like those covered in our guide to IIT, IISER and IIM courses after 12th should note that CUET scores are accepted by a growing number of institutions alongside JEE and CAT, so tracking the CUET exam date 2026 matters even if it is not your primary exam.

CUET 2026 Admit Card and City Intimation Slip

NTA releases the city intimation slip roughly 10-15 days before the exam begins. This tells you which city your exam centre is in, helping with travel and accommodation planning across major cities. The actual admit card, which carries the specific venue address and shift time, comes 3-5 days after the city slip. You cannot sit for CUET without a valid admit card. NTA does not send admit cards by post. Download it directly from the official portal and carry a printed copy along with a valid photo ID to the exam hall.

CUET 2026 Result Date and What Comes After

The CUET 2026 result date is tentatively expected in July 2026. CUET UG results have historically been declared within 4-6 weeks of the last exam date. In 2024, NTA declared results in July, roughly five weeks after the exam window closed, based on the official NTA results announcement published on its website. Scores are released as a normalised scorecard, not raw marks, because the exam runs across multiple shifts with different question sets. NTA uses equi-percentile normalisation, a method it also applies to JEE Main.

After the CUET 2026 Result: University Counselling Timelines

Each participating university runs its own counselling and seat-allotment process after NTA releases scores. Delhi University’s CSAS portal typically opens within 2-3 weeks of the CUET result. Central universities managed by the Ministry of Education follow a similar pattern.

Thinking Beyond CUET: Skill Certifications That Count

Entrance exams get you into college. Certifications get you hired. According to the India Skills Report 2024 published by Wheebox, only 51.25% of Indian graduates are employable in their chosen field straight out of college. That gap is widest in technology and cybersecurity roles. Students who pair their undergraduate degree with practical certifications in cybersecurity or AI consistently report stronger placement outcomes.
